GRE/TOEFL information
The code for University of Washington is 4854 and the program code for the Department of Communication is 4502.
GRE, GMAT, or LSAT scores are required, but by petition this requirement may be waived for those with previous graduate work or substantial work experience (at least ten years) in communication, technology, or related field.
Our concern is with your verbal and writing scores, as writing and comprehension skills are important in our graduate program. Your scores should show sound English and writing skills. This is also demonstrated by the writing in your letter of intent.
International students are required to take a test of English proficiency. For information on the tests that the University of Washington accepts, as well as the minimum scores for admission and for exemption from English classes, see Graduate School memo English Language Ability for Admission to the Graduate School
Visit the official ETS Website for more information about the GRE or the TOEFL.
